Within the framework of the Micro-GEAR project, a workshop on Blockchain Technology and Infrastructure for Issuing Digital Certificates and Microcredentials was held in Madrid (Spain).

The event was hosted by the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M). The program included presentations by experts on blockchain-based digital credentials. Special attention was paid to legal aspects, issues of trust and governance, as well as mechanisms for ensuring data protection and rights.

The workshop included practical training on the CIMEA DiploMe CHAIN ​​system, which is a blockchain-based platform for issuing and verifying digital diplomas and credentials.

The event concluded with a discussion on the future steps of the project, strengthening international cooperation, and promoting the implementation of innovative and reliable microcredential systems in higher education in the South Caucasus.
